John Cooper

John Cooper is a Salford stand-up, improviser and compere who's clocked up hundreds of gigs across the UK since 2003, honing a warm, quick-witted style through his work with the ComedySportz Manchester improv troupe. Alongside straight stand-up he's developed the well-loved character Danny Pensive, whose off-kilter take on very British subjects has become a fixture of clubs across the country, including the solo show Danny Pensive's Map Of Britain. He's written for BBC Radio Newcastle and appeared on BBC Two's The Speaker, and took to the TEDx Warrington stage in 2022. Two decades of stage time across improv, character comedy and straight stand-up, all rolled into one dependable act.
